Volmi — A Virtuos Studio is an outsourcing company that specializes in game development and game content creation. Over the past 9 years, we have successfully completed over a thousand different projects and have gained considerable experience in creating 2D and 3D art, as well as developing turnkey games. Since 2022, we have been a part of Virtuos, the world’s leading game developer, and have become the first Virtuos studio in Eastern Europe.

In particular, we have contributed to the development of popular games such as Diablo 2: Resurrected, Metro Exodus, Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts 2, Smite, Paladins, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, and Marvel Snap. Therefore our team creates high-end gaming content and games for various Mobile, PC, Console, and VR projects.

Join our team of like-minded people passionate about a common goal and love for games as a Lead VFX Artist! We’re looking for someone to take ownership of all VFX across our AAA project.

For which tasks (responsibilities)?

• Analyze the original game to understand its visual effects, style, and gameplay dynamics.
• Define the overall VFX plan, creating clear tasks and building the VFX backlog for the production team.
• Work closely with art direction and design to propose and conceptualize new effects that enhance and expand upon the original experience.
• Once the planning phase is complete, take on a hands-on lead role, supervising daily work from artists, reviewing assets, giving feedback, and ensuring visual consistency and quality across the project.
• Collaborate with technical artists and programmers to guarantee optimal performance and integration of effects in-engine.
• Maintain strong communication with production to ensure schedules and milestones are met.

What kind of professional are we looking for?

• Proven experience as a VFX Lead or Senior VFX Artist in shipped titles (preferably AAA or high-quality indie).
• Solid understanding of real-time VFX pipelines and tools (Unreal Engine preferred).
• Strong artistic eye for composition, color, motion, and impact.
• Ability to analyze and reinterpret existing visuals while proposing creative improvements.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Passion for games and respect for the source material when working on remakes.
