Fishing Planet game studio is a group of talented and dedicated people, who created a successful F2P game from scratch that is now available on 6 platforms — Steam, Epic Games, PlayStation, Xbox and Mobile — both iOS and Android. We are seeking an experienced Technical Artist to join us. You will act as the bridge between art and engineering, ensuring the seamless integration of assets, optimizing performance, and pushing the visual boundaries of our projects.
Your Impact:
- Develop and optimize shaders, materials, and lighting to ensure both visual quality and performance.
- Work closely with artists to integrate 3D models, textures, sprites, and UI elements into the Unity game engine.
- Utilize vector mathematics to optimize game assets and ensure efficient performance across multiple platforms, including legacy systems and HDRP.
- Facilitate communication between the art and engineering teams to ensure efficient asset pipelines and clear technical requirements.
- Drive the creation of procedural content using a procedural approach to enhance in-game environments and mechanics.
- Optimize game assets and rendering performance for various platforms, ensuring the project runs smoothly across all devices.
- Develop technical documentation, workflows, and best practices to streamline the art creation and integration process.
- Participate in team meetings, providing reliable attendance and active collaboration with cross-functional team members.
You will bring:
- At least 3 years of experience in game development as a Technical Artist.
- Expert-level knowledge of the Unity game engine.
- Strong understanding of shader development (HLSL) and the Unity rendering pipelines (URP/HDRP).
- Understanding of vector mathematics for optimization and procedural workflows.
- Experience in procedural content generation.
- Experience in project optimization, ensuring smooth performance on a variety of platforms.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating technical art proficiency, including shader work and optimization techniques.
Nice to have:
- Proficiency in one or more 3D modeling tools such as Blender, Maya, Houdini etc.
- Experience in C# scripting within Unity.
- Experience in character animation and customization workflows.
