Fishing Planet game studio is a group of talented and dedicated people, who created a successful F2P game from scratch that is now available on 5 platforms — Steam, PlayStation, Xbox and Mobile — both iOS and Android. As for now our community has over 20 million players from all over the world and keeps growing. We constantly improve our game and provide our team with resources and environment needed to foster stable, rewarding and life-long careers while developing the best hardware-can-provide experience and atmosphere of fishing for our players.

Creation of a F2P simulator game is equal to creation of a unique universe with its own physics, graphics, complex server infrastructure, tools, etc. You will have an opportunity to challenge your skills in many areas and learn a lot. Along with developing and improving Fishing Planet gameplay we are working on new features and looking for a Senior Game Designer to join our team.

With a strong belief that work-life balance is one of the key components of the company’s success, we transitioned to a 4 days working week over two years ago. The work is fully remote so you can work from anywhere in the world, but there are also two comfortable offices — in Kyiv and in Lisbon (Cascais), Portugal — that you can use if you prefer. You will have 16 days of vacation each year and we strongly encourage everyone to have a proper rest and take a two weeks long vacation every year.

About you:

We are looking for dedicated, intelligent, and passionate video game enthusiasts to join our team. Qualified candidates love video games and are driven to build outstanding experiences for players and strive to improve their skills. Passion for making and playing video games with great player experience is a must.

Your impact:

• Work closely with the Producer and Game Design Team to create immersive and compelling gameplay;
• Maintain design documentation and enforce structure;
• Create new quests, achievements, upgrades, and skills as it relates to gameplay;
• Develop prototypes and game designs that articulate the vision and requirements of game play features;
• Partner with your cross-disciplinary teams to see those designs come to life;
• Create and empower player choice adhering to the creative vision of the game;
• Ensure implementation of game design features are built according to specs and creative quality;
• Optimize existing and come up with new game mechanics and events to increase player engagement and other KPIs.

You will bring:

• Mid to Senior level of experience in a position as a game designer;
• Knowledge and an deep understanding of the design principles behind games;
• Understanding how to balance a high quality, fun player experience with product/business goals;
• Ability to interpret and transform abstract ideas and concepts into compelling work;
• Working knowledge of industry standard concepts and processes;
• Experience with F2P games; experience with simulator games is a big plus;
• Gamer with a PC/Console/Mobile gaming background;
• Experience with Live Support and Post-Launch/Seasonal content releases.
