We are looking for a talented Cinematic Artist to create high-quality in-game cinematics and narrative-driven sequences for our project.
You will be responsible for staging, sequencing, and polishing real-time cinematics that enhance storytelling and emotional impact while maintaining technical performance standards. This role requires strong artistic composition skills, cinematic language understanding, and hands-on experience with Unreal Engine tools.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience creating in-game cinematics or cutscenes
- Strong portfolio demonstrating cinematic work in real-time engines
- Experience working in Unreal Engine (UE4 or UE5)
- Proficiency with Sequencer
- Strong understanding of cinematography principles (camera language, framing, pacing)
- Experience working with character animation integration
- Basic understanding of lighting and composition
- Ability to collaborate across multiple departments
- Strong sense of storytelling and emotional timing
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement in-game cinematics using Unreal Engine tools
- Work with Sequencer to build narrative scenes and scripted events
- Stage cameras, lighting, and character performances
- Collaborate with Animation, VFX, Design, and Audio teams
- Polish facial expressions, timing, and emotional beats
- Optimize cinematic scenes for real-time performance
- Maintain visual consistency with the project’s art direction
- Participate in storyboarding and previs when needed
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to cinematic implementation
Would be a plus:
- Experience shipping a game with narrative cinematics
- Experience with facial animation workflows
- Experience with motion capture integration
- Knowledge of Control Rig in Unreal Engine
- Basic Blueprint knowledge
- Experience with post-processing and color grading
- Background in film or animation production
