3D Animator

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Character Animator to bring high-quality, responsive, and emotionally engaging character performances to life in our project.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Character Animator in game development
  • Experience shipping at least one game title
  • Strong portfolio / demo reel demonstrating gameplay animation
  • Excellent understanding of body mechanics, weight, timing, and performance
  • Experience creating combat and locomotion systems
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Maya
  • Strong understanding of animation for real-time gameplay
  • Experience working with animation blueprints
  • Ability to work closely with designers to refine gameplay feel

Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality keyframe animations for player characters and NPCs
  • Produce combat, locomotion, cinematic, and gameplay-driven animations
  • Collaborate with Design to ensure responsiveness and gameplay clarity
  • Work closely with Technical Animators and Engineers to implement animations in Unreal Engine
  • Participate in motion capture cleanup and refinement (if applicable)
  • Maintain consistency with the project’s visual and animation direction
  • Provide feedback and mentorship to other animators
  • Help define animation pipelines and best practices

Would be a plus:

  • Experience with motion capture workflows and cleanup
  • Experience with root motion and in-place animation systems
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 5 features
  • Knowledge of Control Rig in Unreal
  • Experience with facial animation
  • Understanding of technical constraints and performance optimization
  • Experience implementing animations in Unreal Engine (state machines, blend spaces, montages)
