Our client is a fast-growing AI company delivering real-world, production AI solutions across healthcare, gaming, retail, government, and education. About the Project
You’ll join a gaming project building an AR experience inspired by a well-known sci-fi movie franchise, where players interact with a virtual spaceship through immersive gameplay mechanics. The product blends modern web technologies with game development and interactive experiences. You’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary engineering team supporting ongoing development, improving backend architecture, integrating external services, and preparing the product for future releases. Prior experience with gaming projects or Unity is a plus, but not a requirement.

What You’ll Build

• Scalable backend services using Node.js and Express
• REST APIs and integrations with external services
• MongoDB data models and backend architecture
• Systems built, maintained, and optimized for production releases
• Backend functionality integrated with the frontend, in collaboration with frontend developers

Responsibilities:

Backend (~80%)

• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js, Express, and MongoDB
• Design and improve REST APIs
• Work on system architecture, scalability, and maintainability
• Integrate third-party services and internal APIs
• Support deployment and release activities
• Optimize application performance and reliability
• Potentially contribute to production AI workflows involving LLMs, OCR, document processing, STT/TTS, and classification systems

Frontend (~20%)

• Support the existing React application
• Implement small UI improvements and feature enhancements
• Integrate frontend components with backend APIs

Requirements:

• 5+ years of commercial experience with Node.js
• Solid knowledge of Express.js
• Experience with MongoDB
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs
• Understanding of backend architecture and scalable application design
• Experience working with Git and collaborative development workflows
• Practical experience with React for building or maintaining UI features
• Good problem-solving skills and an ownership mindset
• English sufficient for communication with an international team

Nice to Have

• Experience on gaming projects
• Familiarity with Unity
• Experience with VR or AR applications
• Experience with cloud deployments or CI/CD
