Responsibilities:
- Work with freelance translators or external translation agencies to obtain high-quality translations of the mobile app’s interface, onboarding, descriptions, instructions, and other text elements
- Monitor the quality of the translation, coordinate or edit and proofread texts before passing them over to the team of developers
- Collaboration with development, QA, design, and other teams to ensure that localization is taken into account during the app creation phase
- Keep localized versions consistent with design and user experience
- Manage translation memories, glossaries, localization standards and other resources necessary for effective work
- Monitor project deadlines and budgets, control localization costs, and streamline processes to improve work efficiency
- Translate all text elements from English into Russian
- Ability to write texts for UX, proofread (mostly English, knowledge of other languages will be a plus)
- Planning and coordination of localization projects, creation of style guides for each project
Requirements:
- Advanced English
- Work experience as a Localization Manager or in a similar role within the software/app development industry
- In-depth knowledge of localization processes, best practices, and tools, such as translation memory systems, glossaries, and terminology management
- Familiarity with software localization file formats, such as XML, XLIFF, and JSON
- Familiarity with localization management platforms, such as Smartling, Smartcat, Localizejs, Crowdin, or other
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines
- Linguistic and cultural sensitivity, with the ability to adapt content to suit regional preferences and market demands
- Experience in coordinating and collaborating with translators, proofreaders, and external localization vendors
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to ensure accuracy and consistency in localized content
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve localization issues or challenges
- Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and localization advancements
Nice-to-haves:
- Knowledge of other foreign languages — is a big plus
- Experience as a translator
