Localization Manager

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Localization Manager to serve as the vital link between our development teams and our global players. You will oversee the end-to-end localization lifecycle from managing external translation partners to ensuring that every line of dialogue and UI text is perfectly integrated and culturally relevant.

  • Duration: 6 Months (with possibility of extension based on project needs).
  • Location: Remote.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end localization workflow using internal tools, including the import/export of text strings via spreadsheets, and ensure seamless integration into the project.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for external translation partners and freelancers, providing them with the necessary context and verifying all delivered assets.
  • Act as the central hub for localization info between creative units, QA, programmers, and the marketing/publishing teams.
  • Maintain a rigorous, structured system for tracking all text assets, version changes, and project milestones to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Manage the LQA (Linguistic Quality Assurance) process, triaging bugs, processing feedback, and performing final quality checks to ensure cultural and technical accuracy.

Requirements

  • Strong experience working with spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) for data management and familiarity with localization software or CMS tools.
  • Exceptional organizational ability with a proven track record of managing complex schedules and multi-language tracking.
  • Prior experience in game development or software localization, specifically.
  • Experience in bug tracking and the ability to troubleshoot integration issues within a development environment.
  • You are an active gamer. You understand gaming terminology, genre-specific tropes, and the importance of immersion in the player experience.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with the horror genre (games and movies) and an understanding of Lovecraftian themes and atmosphere.
  • A background in copy-editing or narrative design to assist in maintaining a consistent “voice” across all regions.
  • Familiarity with how different gaming communities communicate, helping to tailor localization to specific target audiences.
