Barbara Bang is looking for a Game Mathematician, who will be responsible for developing mathematical models of the games and for tweaking them to create the best gaming experience possible.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience as a Game Mathematician (or similar position) in the iGaming industry and/or slot games.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economy, Engineering, Computer Science, Game Design or other related fields.
• Experience with slots — advantage.
• Understanding of how slot games work and how to make game mechanics within desired game parameters (RTP, volatility, etc).
• Knowledge of one of the high level programming languages such as C#, C++, Java, Python, etc.
• Senior in Microsoft Excel.
• Creative thinking and strong analytical skills.
• Interest in games both from a designer and player perspective.
• Ability to work in a creative and collaborative environment.
• Ability to multitask, work on multiple games concurrently and deal with changing requirements.
• English — Intermediate+.

Would be nice to have:

• Ability to look at games from players’ point of view.
• Self organization, ability to prioritize tasks.
• Understand successful elements of slot games.
• Develop and explore innovative functionality of slot games.
• Contribute original ideas to the game logic and game design team.

Responsibilities:

• Create mathematical models for games.
• Discuss and participate in brainstorming sessions for game ideas and game features.
• Model and tune mathematical models using Excel.
• Create quick prototypes to test game flow and game balancing.
• Test and verify accuracy of mathematical models via simulations.
• Analyze user feedback and game statistics and adjust the mathematical model and game design accordingly.
• Assist in game development process, engaging the team and resolving issues.
• Support Game Producers tune the game concepts.
• Work closely and collaborate with Game Designers, Software Developers, Art Directors, and Producers to produce quality games.
• Troubleshooting with engineers on technical implementation of mathematical models.
• Provide answers and explanations to relevant math questions for game designers, engineers, compliance requirements and other departments as necessary.
